Take a Stitch Tuesday--Buttonhole stitch

I wanted to do something a bit more for week 2 of TAST.

I started by drawing ideas in my sketch book.
Then I did buttonhole stitch on felt using wool and silk threads
I then needle felted it using my Babylock embellisher.  Next time I won't needle felt it so much (If I do it again.)

Last of all I did more buttonhole stitch on top of everything.

You can see more work using the buttonhole stitch listed in the comments here:

  1. Great job never thought about felting embroidery work love how it gives it a little bit of a water color look to it.

  4. Great idea, you are very good sketching and designing your piece. I need to have the needle in my hand to create, maybe someone could invent a pencil in the point of a needle. ):

  5. I think your piece is very pretty in colors and shapes. I feel like I'm in a field of flowers and see rolling hills in the distance.

Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comment.

  8. I also use a sketchbook first to explore the stitch. Often it is easier to use needle to fabric I feel than to try and draw the stitch but it is helpful to get ideas and inspiration. Your buttonhole sample is gorgeous and it is interesting how you felted it.
